Okay so I'm in a sketchy mood now...

And out of boredom, I've been redrawing and redesigning creatures I haven't drawn since I was 12. It's a lot of fun actually.

I've also been wrapped up in playing Silent Hill Origins. It's pretty good, but it has some really annoying bugs and faults and doesn't quite stand up to the previous 4 games. The thing that bugged me the most was the darkness, I know darkness should be a good thing in a Silent Hill game but this time they got it wrong, I had to wrestle with the game camera a lot and the flashlight was angled so that it didn't illuminate what was directly in front of you, making items really hard to find. I honestly don't know how people could play this on a PSP screen, I'm playing on a TV and I still can't find the health drink that's supposed to be in this room! On the positive side, I got a kick out of some of the monsters (and the fact that you can throw toasters at them) that made their debut in this game; the Caliban has to be my favorite so far (I'm at the motel). Another monster I find fascinating is the Carrion; I honestly don't know whether to laugh hysterically or shudder whenever I run into one. They look like last year's Thanksgiving dinner gone horribly wrong, they drag themselves awkwardly up the streets with their meaty asses in the air, yet they somehow manage to creep me out, especially the huge ones.

Well looks like I'll be spending another summer without a job B<

Haven't been in the mood for sketching or painting lately, I've been spending most of my free time either cleaning out my house or in the pool chillin' for the past few weeks. But despite the lack of motivation, my brain has managed to poop out some good ideas.

So yeah, final projects have kind of owned my life for the past month, but I'm pretty much done for the year now. That means there will be a shit-ton of art project postings on DA in the near future but for now have some sketches:

Oh, and I also posted a bunch of stuff on Deviantart in the past 2 weeks, yep lotsa stuff.

Well, hope everyone had a nice Christmas, I know I did. I got lots of candy, clothes, books, the new Legend of Spyro game, and Shadow of the Colossus.

Damn why did I not realize the awesomeness of Shadow of the Colossus earlier, the game's been out for what? 2 years now? The visuals are gorgeous, the colossi are kickass, and the physics and AI are eerily realistic. I'm especially impressed by the AI that controls the horse you ride, he automatically turns away from walls and stops at cliffs, acts antsy and nervous and hard to control when in the territory of a colossus, and spooks and runs out of control when you ride him too close to a colossus's stomping feet.

Oh and art, yes, I'm working on that too. I'm working on finishing up a quick painting I started a few months ago, I should have it up on DA in a few days. I also need to start scanning the few sketches I did manage to churn out during classes and figure out what I want to do with them.

So there's my holiday update, now I must go and try to do something productive.

So I was in a time-based art/design class last semester and the professor gave us an assignment that explored figure-ground relationships (don't know what those are, me neither apparently) and came up with this:

Then we had to do the same figure-ground thing only with 101 different images of the same thing, I chose iguanas. So for the next week I slaved over a hot laptop for the next week churning out 101 drawings of iguanas.

So that's pretty much the last few months in a nutshell. Oh, and I made an animated short, but it'll be awhile before I get it online, I need one of the college's computers to get it rendered and compressed and I'm home right now so I'm stuck with dial-up but it'll get up eventually.

And I'm finally free from the semester from hell! I actually have time to draw now! Fwee!

So that means I'll be online more often, posting arts here and on DA that I never got around to posting because of classes owning my life.

But for now, I'm damn tired. I just got settled into my parent's house yesterday and spent the past week staying up till 4 am trying to get projects done; I don't even have my scanner set up yet, so I'll try to get some stuff up either tomorrow or Saturday.

By the way, I guess I should have mentioned this when it was still on DA, but 2 of the photos I used were from sites outside of DA. The desert landscape was from a stock site I found through Google (I thought it was from DA, I guess not, whups :V) and the little man I got from a random site that I don't really remember. I think that's what got me in trouble, the little man wasn't a stock photo, it was a random picture which the owner apparently didn't intend to be used for art. Feh, whatever, they're making a big deal out of nothing if you ask me...

Yes, I'm still alive...just...classes, ew.

These are just some photomanips I did for one of my classes. It wasn't a very big assignment but I still like the way they look.
